The Young Man and the Sea
Book Reviews

Rodman Philbrick did a good job of describing a boy's heart towards his boat, the Mary Rose. Skiff Beaman's mother died, leaving his father on the TV couch with beer and grief. Skiff has to replace the motor on the Mary Rose but it costs a lot of money so he starts trapping lobsters. Tyler Croft cuts his traps so he doesn't have any lobster, and Skiff decides to find a bluefin tuna. They are hugs and he almost gets killed trying to catch one. I think I learned a lot about boats too because it referred to many tools and items on a boat. I mean prevail in a mission does give it a happy ending, but it was mainly on a boat with not that many turns. That is just my opinion, but it is a good book.
