Riding the Flume
Book Reviews

Summary: This is an adventurous tale of a fifteen-year-old girl named Francie whose love of the woods lead her to discover something unusual up in an old sequoia tree that was going to be cut down. It was a diary that looked like it could be her sister’s who died six years ago in an accident. She discovers that the woods where the sequoia is didn’t really belong to the man that it was named after. She had to do something about this. Read the book to find out what her curiosity and daring attributes lead her to do to save what was left of the woods.

Reactions and Conclusions: This adventurous story about a fifteen-year-old and her interests in Connor’s Basin and its sequoia trees interests readers of all ages. It teaches us things about a not very well-known part of our history.
