The Report Card

The Report Card Book Talk: For as long as she can remember, Nora has been different. And for as long as she can remember, she tried to be normal and fit in. You see, Nora is a genius. But she realized early on that she didn't want to be. So she has spent her first few years in school imitating the normal kids and not standing out. No one has any idea that she is bright. But things change in 5th grade. Nora sees how the standardized testing starts dividing kids into different groups based on the results. Because of this, she decides that she will get nothing but bad grades. This is the beginning of her plan. (Booktalks Quick and Simple)
