This book is called On Etruscan Time by Tracy Barrett. An eleven year old boy named Hector is forced to go to Italy for the summer and he's not to happy about it. While he's there he learns to become an archaeologist and help find artifacts about a race of people that have lived in early times in Italy. Many people have found pottery but when Hector found a stone eye, he kept it to himself. Little did he know that stone eye is teleporting him to the past. There he meets an Etruscan boy that is going to be sacrificed. Hector helps the boy and is being pulled from the past to the present to the past and so on. He hardly know where (or when) he's going to be next. The end of the story is what you'll have to figure out on your own when you pick this book up from the library today!
