This book is about two twins named Grace and Marty whose parents get lost in the Amazon so the go to live with their Uncle Travis Wolfe. Their rich uncle lives on a private island where he runs his own computer company and is a veterinarian who travels the world in search of cryptids.

Marty and Grace found that on the island there were tons of things for them to do. For Marty, the island was a big adventure because he spent most of his time exploring the island. Grace also found something she liked, reading the books in Wolfe's library.

When Dr. Laura Lee shoed up with dinosaur eggs it started a chain of events that brought them all to the Amazon. However, Marty and Grace arrived unexpectedly in the Amazon where they had to survive alone and without any technology except for their "Gizmo," before being reunited with their uncle. Noach Blackwood's goons were also on the island looking for the eggs for illegal purposes and their own personal gain. Even though there were a lot of challenges Marty and Grace were able to keep the eggs away from Blackwood.
