The Boy Who Saved Baseball Writing Prompts Menu

There are many heroes in this book. A hero is someone that you look up to because of their qualities or accomplishments. Choose someone that you think of as a hero. This individual could be living or dead. You can also choose someone that is known or unknown to you. Research this person to find out more about him or her. Write an essay that includes the person’s background, why he/she is a hero, and how this person has influenced you and/or your life. Should Dillontown be Saved?
The fate of Dillontown rests on a single baseball game. Do you think the town should be saved as it is, or should it be bulldozed and redeveloped? Take a stance. Write a persuasive essay using at least 3 main reasons and details from the story to support your opinion. You will be assessed using the district’s persuasive writing prompt scoring guide.
