The author of this book was Gennifer Choldenko. The book is about a boy, Moose Flannagin, and his sister Natalie who moves with his family to Alcatraz, a place with many convicts. Natalie has autism so she's been 10 for a long time, and when things are bad for the family Moose has to take care of his big "little" sister because she didn't make it into school. Moose also meets new friends, including Piper, who gets him in trouble for trying to make money by doing laundry by Al Capone. Moose asks Capone for help with Natalie and in the end everything is great. I think that this book was more about a relationship with a brother and sister more than anything. Alcatraz is a place to make things difficult for them, but I do recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a story of hardships and happy endings.
